High-Speed Data Installation introduces the fundamentals of high-speed Internet access service by presenting the typical features and functions of cable modems. The student will gain a thorough understanding of how the PC and modem interface with the broadband network. Topics of study include DOCSIS in the network, cable modem provisioning, the role of the cable modem termination system, and more. The student also will learn how to effectively educate customers to the new high-speed service.
