Jones/NCTI Executive Bios

Thomas W. Brooksher, President
and CEO
Tom has more than 25 years'
experience in training and publishing, and more than 20 years'
experience in the communications industries. As president and
CEO of Jones/NCTI, Tom transformed the 35-year-old company from a deliverer
of self-study courseware to the world's largest independent provider
of broadband workforce performance tools. As a result of his efforts,
the company is now recognized as the authority on workforce productivity
in the broadband and cable industry. Under his leadership, the
company has doubled its suite of products, created a custom services
practice, and implemented a professional education business unit.
Prior to joining Jones/NCTI, Tom served as group
publisher for Cahners (now Reed Business Information) Television
Group's Denver-based telecommunications technology cluster consisting
of Wireless Week, Broadband Week, and CED (Communications Engineering
and Design). Tom was the founding publisher of Wireless Week,
a weekly newspaper serving the cellular telephone, PCS, paging,
wireless data, and mobile radio markets. He was the founding group
publisher of Broadband Week.
From 1980 to 1990, Tom served as executive
vice president and publisher of Radio Communications Report (RCR)
and founded several publications including Cellular Business magazine,
Land Mobile Product News magazine, and PCS Report newsletter.
He also held the positions of director of new product development
for Intertec Publishing Co. and president and CEO of a software
development company and an electronic publishing company.
Tom is an honors graduate of Washburn University
in Topeka, Kan. He lives in Littleton, Colo., with his wife, Janie,
and two sons, Andy and Kyle.

Alan Babcock, Chief Learning
Officer
Alan Babcock has 20 years of training experience
in the broadband industry. He joined Jones/NCTI in 2000 as vice president
of Learning and Development and assumed the additional role of chief
learning officer in January 2003. In his position, Alan oversees
the learning and development and education business units and has
strategic responsibility for products and services beyond the legacy
training business. He is also responsible for the development of
training programs for the broadband, data, and telephony markets.
Prior to joining Jones/NCTI, Alan was director of
training development for the Society of Cable and Telecommunications
Engineers. As a part of its management team, he provided strategic
direction for the association and spearheaded the development of
its training programs. He was awarded the prestigious title of SCTE
Member of the Year in 1996 for his work as chairman of the SCTE
Training Committee.
Alan also held the position of director of
training at TCI Communications Inc., where he designed, developed,
and managed national training centers and developed training products
for new technologies in the industry. He served as technical training
manager and district manager for Time Warner Cable as well as national
training manager for American Television and Communications Corp.
