Good customer care is the name of the game in today’s competitive telecommunications industry, and good care starts with knowledgeable, highly skilled personnel. Contract technicians are now required to be certified in core, video, high-speed data and digital voice installations in order to continue to work and will be restricted to working only on those job types for which they have been certified.

This is your opportunity to demonstrate your technical and customer service knowledge.
The tests are multiple-choice and administered by Jones/NCTI.   Each test will contain 50 questions and must be completed in 50 minutes.   Tests are as follows:

PLEASE NOTE: Questions for the HSD exam have been updated as of April 4, 2008 and is now covering the material in the new HSD Second Edition manuals. Please take this into consideration when determining preparedness for the exam.

Steps to Qualification

1. Prepare - To pass each exam you need to be knowledgeable on the subject matter. For some, prior training and on-the-job experience will provide a deep enough understanding to be successful. 2. Alternative Training Options -

4. Take the exam - Go to the center you’ve selected at the time you scheduled and complete the exam. If you fail the exam you’ll need to retake and pass it to become qualified. Of course, prior to retaking you’ll want to obtain and study the manual or take advantage of another training method to prepare you for success.
